Get Involved

One does not need to be a part of the journalism classes, however, to be a contributor to the school paper. The Bishop Blanchet Miter offers all students a public forum to exercise their freedom of speech. In each issue, students from all classes are encouraged to sound off on topics that matter most to them. Any student or staff member of Bishop Blanchet High School may submit a letter to the editor by e-mailing his/her thoughts to cgrasses@bishopblanchet.org.

DEPENDING ON YOU!

When the 2009 Volleyball Team captured the State Championship, they credited the crowd, those crazed individuals oozing Brave Pride, yelling "BOOM" every chance they got.

When the school gathered for a memorial service for our late friend, Daisy, it was again the Brave spirit that prayerfully united us to commemerate the passing of her gentle soul and to support those left mournfully behind.

When powerful things happen in our building, it is that Brave spirit that makes it happen: all of us, united together, with one cause in mind.

The Miter is asking for a little of that Brave Spirit.

First, we need story ideas. If there is an article you think we should write, tell us about it.  Maybe a classmate has organized a Meals on Wheels program, bringing dinners to shut-ins.  Let us know!  Somebody may quietly be fighting cancer.  Another person might spend four hours after school each day dancing with the PNB.  Help us profile these Braves by contacting us at cgrasses@bishopblanchet.org.

Secondly, we could use your feedback.  If something we have written has made you think, infuriated you, or did not provide enough information, please write us at Letters to The Editors.  In order to publish your work, the piece must be less than 300 words and you must sign your name to it.  Every issue, we will print as many of these letter as we have room for.  Contact us at cgrasses@bishopblanchet.org.

Lastly, you can submit photos (jpg format at 300 dpi) or volunteer to write an article.  Come be part of the award winning team.  We will even let you sneek in a "Boom!"  Contact us at cgrasses@bishopblanchet.org.
