Athletics Overview

Sports are an important part of life at Bishop Blanchet. More than half of the student body participates in at least one sport per year. There are 35 different BBHS teams that compete in the Metro league in division 3A. Our athletes are consistently honored for their accomplishments both on and off the playing fields, earning all-metro, all-state and all-academic honors.

The Winter Sports Parent Meeting will be held Monday, November 24, at 7:00 p.m. in the main gym.  All students participating in a winter sport are expected to have a parent present at this meeting.

Athletic Forms
In order to try out or participate in sports, all student-athletes must complete the required eligibility process – which upon completion will result in being issued a yellow eligibility card.
Without a yellow eligibility card, student-athletes may not participate in any sports (including practice) at Bishop Blanchet.

Each student-athlete must complete the online eligibilty/medical paperwork. The forms can be found on the school admin site . Forms need to be completed prior to obtaining your yellow card. The Eligibility/Medical and Forms and Physical Form are still hard copies. Please bring the medical forms and your $100 sports fee when registering for your sport.
Please feel free to contact Ms. Fieser if you have any questions.
Note about the Sports Fee: The $100.00 sports fee is refunded if a student-athlete does not make the team that he or she is trying out for. Inability to pay the fee does not prohibit a student from playing sports. Contact the athletic office if a fee waiver is needed.

Physical Exams
Physical exams are required annually for all students playing a sport or taking PE.  Physical exams are offered annually.  These exams will meet the requirement of the athlete having a valid physical for the upcoming sports seasons.
