Diversity - Equity - Inclusion

Mission & Philosophy

Guided by Catholic Social Teaching, Bishop Blanchet is committed to justice, peace, and solidarity with all people. Our DEI Framework helps us live out these values by centering the principles of Human Dignity, Common Good, Subsidiarity, and Solidarity. Through ongoing reflection, analysis, and action, we strive to build a school community where every member feels welcomed, celebrated, and safe.

Letter from our DEI Director

At Bishop Blanchet, our mission calls us to educate students in a challenging, positive, and inclusive environment, one that reflects the diversity and richness of our global society. Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts are guided by the DEI Framework, rooted in the four pillars of Catholic Social Teaching: Human Dignity, the Common Good, Subsidiarity, and Solidarity. This framework invites our community into a continuous cycle of reflection, observation, analysis, and action as we work to build a more just and compassionate world. These values are woven throughout school life: from all-school assemblies and formation opportunities to student affinity groups, social justice councils, cultural celebrations, and signature events like Celebrating Diversity Week and the annual Diversity Leadership Summit. Faculty and staff engage in DEI-centered formation and professional development throughout the year. Through the work of our Multicultural Affairs Council (MAC), we strive to ensure all students and families, especially those from historically minoritized communities, feel seen, heard, celebrated, and supported. Guided by Catholic Social Teaching, we continue to grow together in faith, understanding, and the pursuit of justice.
