All ninth grade applicants to Bishop Blanchet are required to take the High School Placement Test (HSPT). Along with grades and teacher recommendations, the results are used for placement in English, math and science courses.
The HSPT will be administered on Saturday, November 16th
at 9AM and on Sunday, November 17th
at 1PM; students may sign up for one of the testing days here
. The test has language and math sections and one written essay and takes approximately four hours to complete. Because a number of local Catholic high schools use the HSPT, a student who takes the test at another school may arrange to have the results sent to Bishop Blanchet. A few weeks after taking the test, you will receive results from the testing company.
Students taking the HSPT at Bishop Blanchet should arrive at least 15 minutes before the test start time. You may park in the parking lot and follow the signs to the check-in table. Test takers will need their student identification, two #2 pencils and a blue or black ink pen. Because students will be completing some demographic information, they will need to know their current mailing address with zip code. We will provide breaks and snacks.
Students requesting the accommodation of extra time must submit documentation from their current school indicating that they qualify for extended time on tests. Any additional educational and/or cognitive testing will gladly be accepted and reviewed.
