The Arts

Auditions and Crew Applications are almost due for this year's spring musical; Stephen Schwartz's Working! If you want to be a part of the on stage ensemble cast, or backstge working with one of our four crews (Costume Crew, Hair & Makeup Crew, Marketing Crew, and Stage Crew), then swing by the student lounge to sign up! Audition and Crew forms are available on this page, as well as on the callboard in the student lounge. Don't wait, the deadline is coming up. Auditions begin December 17th, and crew applications are due December 20th.

Based on the book of the same name by Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and historian Studs Terkel, Working takes a look at the unsung heroes in our community--the truck drivers, flight attendants, millworkers, couriers and teachers, among others.
Culled from real-life interviews, Working asks why we do what we do, how do we feel about it, and what happens when we find a reason for doing that's bigger than ourselves.
Featuring a fantastic collection of songs from Stephen Schwartz, James Taylor, Lin-Manuel Miranda and more, Working offers much for our audience to enjoy and consider, and plenty of opportunities for our student performers.
Working performs April 12-14 at the historic Moore Theatre in downtown Seattle. We'll see you there!

About Our Program

At Bishop Blanchet, our drama department's motto is "Truth and Courage." Whether students intend to pursue a career in acting or are simply looking to try something new, we believe that making theatre cultivates creativity, sensitivity and enthusiasm in young people, and our program offers a supportive environment where students can make bold choices.
The drama department offers a comprehensive three-part sequential acting program, three classes in theatre design, and a three-show season: a fall play, a student directed one-act festival, and a spring musical.
For more information about drama clubs like the Improv Team or the International Thespian Society, visit the Clubs page.
