Dear parents and guardians of the BBHS Senior Class,
 
The big week has arrived! This is our last opportunity to share important information with you before the big day. Please read these final instructions and details.
 
COMMENCEMENT REHEARSAL: TOMORROW
Thursday, June 2, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Bishop Blanchet High School, Ernie Rose Gym
  • Rehearsal is immediately following the last senior final.
  • Attendance at the practice is required for all seniors.
  • Commencement Tickets will be distributed to students at the rehearsal. See more about tickets in the Commencement section below.
  • Honor cords, National Honor Society items and other items will also be distributed at the rehearsal.

BACCALAUREATE MASS: THURSDAY
Thursday, June 2, 7-8:30 p.m.
Bishop Blanchet High School
 
  • The Baccalaureate Mass will be held either in the Jim Pinsoneault Quad or in the Ernie Rose Gym, based on the weather.
  • Guests will once again be allowed this year at the Baccalaureate Mass.
  • Tickets are NOT required.
  • Seating will be unassigned, on a first come, first served basis.
  • Chairs will be set up up for guests in the Quad or the Gym. If in the Gym, we will also have bleacher seating available.
  • In either space, we can accommodate seating for those with limited mobility (no advance reservations are necessary).
 
Timeline:
  • 6:30 p.m.: Seniors report to the Senior Hall on the 2nd Floor with their graduation gowns (no mortarboards/caps).
  • Students will enter the school via the Quad Doors by the vending machines.
  • 6:30 p.m.: Seating opens to guests
  • 7:00 p.m.: Mass begins
 
Attire:
  • Seniors and guests are asked to dress nicely for a formal event as a sign of reverence. Wear something weather-appropriate, as we may be outside!
  • Seniors wear their graduation gown but not mortarboard (cap). 
  • No hats, athletic shoes, jeans, shorts, t-shirts or sweatshirts.
 
Parking:
  • Parking is limited in the school parking lot. Please carpool if possible and allow enough time to park off-campus if necessary. 
  • Parking for those with limited mobility will be accommodated as necessary upon arrival. Please allow plenty of time.
Livestream Information:
  • The Baccaulerate Mass will be live streamed via our Bishop Blanchet YouTube channel. Please feel free to share the link with family and friends, and we advise you to test your device prior to the ceremony. The livestream will remain viewable as a recording on YouTube after the event.

Friday, June 3, 3-5 p.m.

  • 1:45 p.m. - T-Mobile Park Gates open 
  • Pre-event BBHS videos (including Senior Tributes) will be played on the JumboTron, and will repeat until the ceremony begins
  • Live-stream begins
  • 2 p.m. - Seniors should meet at staging area on Main Concourse
  • 3 p.m. - Processional and Ceremony begins
  • 5 p.m. - Estimated end time
  • 5:30 p.m. - All guests must depart T-Mobile Park
 
Guest Tickets:
Commencement tickets will go home with seniors after their Graduation Practice tomorrow, Thursday, June 2.
  • Please ask your senior for their sealed ticket envelope when they get home, and check it immediately. Ticket issues that arise will need to be addressed at the Home Plate Gate upon arrival at T-Mobile Park.
  • Coordinate with your guests to distribute tickets prior to entering T-Mobile Park.
  • In the event of lost tickets, guests will need to check in at the Home Plate Gate entrance upon arrival at T-Mobile Park.
  • Tickets are required for all guests. Graduating seniors do not need a ticket. 
 
Livestream Information:
  • The Commencement Ceremony and pre-event video content starting at 1:45 p.m. will be live streamed via our Bishop Blanchet YouTube channel. Please feel free to share the link with family and friends, and we advise you to test your device prior to the ceremony. The livestream will remain viewable as a recording on YouTube after the event.
 
Seating:
  • Seniors will be seated together in assigned seats, in section 120. 
  • Guest seating is unassigned; please sit where you like in sections 121-141, on the Main Concourse behind home plate.
  • Seating for guests with limited mobility is available above each seating section and accessible by elevator on the concourse level. 
 
Information for Seniors:
  • Seniors will enter T-Mobile Park through the Right Field Gate and go to the staging area on the Main Concourse by 2 p.m. (gates open at 1:45 p.m.)
  • Remind your senior to bring:
  • Graduation cap and gown
  • Tassel
  • Any honor recognition they have earned, including honor cords and Honor Society medals. (They will receive these items at graduation practice on Thursday, June 2).
  • Please dress nicely for a formal event. No hats, jeans, shorts, t-shirts or sweatshirts.
  • Wear reasonable footwear to walk up and down stairs, and on dirt or uneven surfaces.
  • No messages or decorations on mortarboards.
  • Only school-designated or pre-approved regalia may be worn (flower leis are OK).
  • Graduates will exit T-Mobile Park through the Right Field Gate. Please meet up with your family and guests outside the Park. There is a large gathering space on Occidental Avenue, on the west side of the parking garage.
 
Information for Guests: 
  • Gates open at 1:45 p.m. - the ceremony begins at 3 p.m.
  • The pre-event video program (including Senior Tributes) will be played on the JumboTron, and will repeat until the ceremony begins.
  • Please review the KNOW BEFORE YOU GO document.
  • Guests will enter and exit T-Mobile Park through the Home Plate Gate.
  • Tickets are required for all guests.
  • After the ceremony, please meet up with your graduate outside T-Mobile Park. There is a large gathering space on Occidental Avenue, on the west side of the parking garage.
 
Weather and Attire:
  • While we are all praying for good weather, please know that T-Mobile Park can and will close the roof if necessary.
  • Even if the roof is closed, you are sitting outside. Dress accordingly.
 
What you MAY bring to T-Mobile Park:
  • Cameras - however, camera bags are not permitted 
  • Blankets
  • Strollers, wheelchairs and other mobility products
  • Clear plastic or vinyl bags no larger than 12" x 6" x 12"
  • One-gallon clear plastic zip-top bags
  • Small clutch-size purses no larger than 4 ½" x 6 ½"
  • Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items or single compartment diaper bags (child must be present)
  • Outside food is permitted in single-serving sizes.
  • Sealed, clear plastic water bottles up to 32 oz., baby bottles, beverages related to medical needs, and unopened, soft-sided single serve containers like juice boxes are permitted, along with empty reusable bottles (32 ounce or less in size)
 
What you MAY NOT bring to T-Mobile Park:
  • Noisemakers
  • Signs or “fat heads”
  • Food
  • Balloons, beach balls or any other type of inflatable items
  • Beverages besides water (see above). Coffee, tea, soda or alcohol are not permitted.
  • Selfie sticks
  • Wrapped packages or objects

What is the security procedure like at T-Mobile Park?
T-Mobile Park staff will be positioned outside to provide assistance with the entry process. Guests will pass through walk-through metal detectors. It is not necessary to remove cell phones, car keys or coins from pockets. If secondary screening is necessary, it will consist of a manual screen with a hand-held metal detector. Guests that are unable to undergo a metal detection search due to medical reasons will be screened with a hand-held wand.
 
Parking
  • All BBHS guests will have access to free parking in the Mariner's Parking Garage.
  • Parking reservations are not needed.
  • There are ADA spots on each level of the Mariners parking garage. Bring your state-issued permit. T-Mobile staff will be on hand to direct you. Take the elevator to the ground level.
  • Do not use the Sky Bridge as that gate WILL NOT be open. All guests must enter at the Home Plate Gate.
  • DO NOT JAYWALK across Edgar Martinez Drive. It is a very busy street and will be barricaded off for your safety. 
  • All guests will need to travel across the street to the stadium, so we recommend arriving early to allow enough time.

Last Blast Timeline:
Friday, June 3, 9:30 p.m.: Drop off graduates at BBHS; Check in begins
Friday, June 3, 10 p.m.: Bus transportation will leave from BBHS (not from T-Mobile Park)
Saturday, June 4, 5:30 a.m.: Pick up your graduate from BBHS
 
Details:
  • This post-graduation event is planned, organized and chaperoned by BBHS parents. 
  • Graduates must arrive at Bishop Blanchet at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, June 3 to check in and board the bus. Graduates need to be dropped off at BBHS; they cannot leave cars overnight.
  • When graduates arrive at BBHS, they should have already changed into comfortable clothing including closed-toe shoes. There are both indoor and outdoor activities, so dress for the weather.
  • Students may bring a cell phone but nothing else - no purses, backpacks, bags, etc.
  • Once at school, graduates will enter the Commons via the Atrium entrance from the Quad. They will finalize paperwork, receive an event wristband and prepare to load the bus.
  • The top secret venue will have food and drinks, with options for vegetarians and basic food sensitivities. Those with special dietary needs should bring something to eat, labeled with their name.
  • Graduates return to Bishop Blanchet at 5-5:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 4. For student safety, they must have a ride home after the event; they will not be allowed to drive themselves. Please plan accordingly.
  • Parent/guardian could be called and asked to pick a student up from the venue for a variety of reasons including illness, behavior, etc. 
Registration and Payment: There is still time - we want all of the graduates to come!
  • Complete payment online here ($165 per participant)
  • Complete and sign the following forms:
  • Last Blast Registration Forms (required for each participant)
  • Emergency Care Plan (only if applicable to participant)
  • Note: Confidential financial assistance is available. Please contact Mr. Bocian to inquire. Please don't let finances be the reason your student misses out.
  • In addition to payment, completed and signed forms must be returned to the Business Office by Friday, May 27. Completed and signed forms can be dropped to the Main Office or emailed to Jessica Owens.
 
Note: Bishop Blanchet does not sponsor Last Blast, or any parties in private homes, trips, activities or events for seniors other than those listed in this email.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Senior Class Video: Seniors and parents will be emailed a link to the senior graduation video within a few weeks after graduation.  
 
Graduation Photos: Lifetouch School Portraits will have photographers at graduation to take pictures of each student, once as they receive their diploma and again on 3rd base with the iconic T-Mobile logo in the background. Please use this link to order photos. You are welcome to pre-purchase pictures now, or wait until after graduation to view and purchase. 
 
Diplomas, Final Transcripts & Grades: Diplomas will be mailed to those students in the senior class who have successfully completed the graduation requirements.
  • A student may be withheld for disciplinary reasons from participation in the Graduation Ceremony and/or Last Blast.
  • If a student's tuition account, fines or fees are in arrears, final transcripts and the diploma will be held until your account has been settled.  
  • Please encourage your senior to stay engaged in their coursework for the final weeks of the school year. Also, a reminder that colleges will review final grades. If grades in a core course fall below a C, there is a possibility that college acceptance may be rescinded.  
  • Final transcripts will be sent to the “attending college” listed in your student’s Naviance account.
It's almost time to "play ball!" Congratulations to all of our graduating students and families - we hope you enjoy these culminating experiences as our seniors finish their time here at Blanchet. We look forward to celebrating the Class of 2022!
