We offer a comprehensive program where students learn and play many types of music with a variety of performances throughout the year.
Drumline - Club - No experience necessary - Tuesdays and Thursdays in May!
Starting next week! Come to Haggerty Hall on Tuesday, May 10th at 6:30pm for the first of many Open Auditions to join the Drumline! Our instructor, Chase LaPlante (current Center Snare at the University of Washington), teaches students of any experience levels how to play all 4 instruments in the Drumline. We even take total beginners who have never held a drumstick before! The Drumline performs at Football and Basketball Games during the school year, as well as Assemblies and State Sendoffs for Athletics. It is the best way to get involved quickly and have a set of friends before even arriving as a 9th grader. All equipment needed is provided by the school.
Band - Class during school day - No experience necessary
A curricular class with all traditional Band instruments, such as Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, and Percussion. We perform at Football games in the Fall, a Christmas Concert, a Spring Concert, and perform at Graduation every year. A great way to learn a new instrument and form lifelong friendships. School instruments are available for students to use and all music is provided!
Jazz Band - Class during Zero Period - experience and audition required
Start the day off right with this advanced Music course during Zero Period! This group of high level musicians performs and competes all around Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. If your student plays one of the following instruments - Guitar, Piano, Bass, Drumset, Saxophone, Trumpet, or Trombone - and they want to take their musicianship to the next level, contact Mr. VanDuinen for Audition information right away.
